Cooked, nutritious lunches are prepared in school from fresh produce. There is a daily vegetarian option, salad, juice and milk as well as a choice of vegetables and puddings. The menus are posted a term in advance. These are reviewed termly by the children and adjusted where necessary to encourage children to have a full meal and to avoid wastage.
From September 2014 the Government introduced ‘Universal Infant Free School Meals’ which means Early Years Foundation Stage, Year 1 and Year 2 children in all maintained school are entitled to a school meal.
Payment for Key Stage 2 (Years 3 to 6) children is done via the North Lincolnshire Council school meals payment system. For more information and a link to the payment system please check out the NLC School Meals Payment website or contact Schools Catering for more information on paying for school meals.

Packed lunches should be brought in a named container with a plastic beaker/carton of drink, (no fizzy drinks). We promote a healthy and balanced diet. For safety reasons please do not send cans or glass bottles.
For more information on healthy packed lunches please see the NHS Change 4 Life website.
The Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 children are offered a free piece of fruit or veg every day. Key Stage 2 children are encouraged to bring their own fresh fruit or veg for a morning snack and this needs to be in a sealed, named container. The Early Years Foundation Stage children are also given a carton of fresh milk at morning playtime (please inform the EYFS staff of dairy allergies).
The children are encouraged to drink water through the day. We have a water fountain for break times but children can have a clear plastic bottle in the classroom which needs labelling with the child’s name.
Sport Coach at lunchtimes
Our Sport Coach organises games and activities for the children to get involved in over lunchtime. These are a mixture of different sporting activities. The aim is to encourage children of all ages to play positively together, fostering team spirit, good sportsmanship and fairness. As the children move up the school, they are encouraged to lead games themselves.
