This is the daily routine of a normal day in our Early Years Foundation Stage, but every day can be different and exciting.

School Gate Opens Soft Opening.
• Parents/Carers support the children to prepare for the day with independent tasks including sorting book bags and coats.
• Children self register and put their photographs on the behaviour wall.
• Children complete morning activity in the classroom.
9:05am – 9:10am5 minsWelcome Time
• Welcome song, register, date, news and discussions.
9:10am – 9:45am35 minsLetter and Sounds Time
• Focus adult led activity.
• Phonics groups, small group adult led learning.
9:45am – 10:00am15 minsEYFS Playtime
• Playtime on the school playground.
• Fruit.
• Track Daily Challenge (once around the school track).
10:00am – 11:30am1 hour 30 mins Child Initiated Learning / Focus Time
• Maths or English focused input.
• Groups of children join adults for focus activities.
• Children access the continuous provision supported by adults.
11:30am – 12:00pm30 minsStory & Review Time
• Tidy time.
• Review Learning / Story / Singing.
• Lunch preparation.
12:00pm – 1:00pm1 hourLunch Time
• Packed lunch or hot school meals.
• Playtime on the school’s main playground.
1:00pm – 1:05pm5 minsRegister and Physical Skills
• Register.
• After lunch discussion time.
1:05pm – 1:30pm25 minsHandwriting
• Motor Skills.
• Letter formation.
• Singing.
1:30pm – 2:30pm1 hourChild Initiated Learning/ Focus Time
• Groups of children join adults for focus activities.
• Children access the continuous provision supported by adults.
2:30pm – 3:15pm 45 minsStory & Review Time
• Tidy time.
• Review Learning / Story / Singing.
3:15pm - 3:30pm
Gates open at 3:15pm
15 mins Home Time
• Prepare for home time.
• Parents/Carers collect children from the Foundation Stage playground.

Snack Time

Snack is available for the children during the day this includes:

  • Carton of fresh milk
  • Water
  • Selection of fruit and vegetables – carrots, apples, bananas, pears, oranges, raisins, etc.

Children can also bring a water bottle to keep in the classroom during the school day.
